Welcome!

This blog is my desire to share some of the everyday learnings that come my way and how they weave themselves into living with passion and purpose. I was introduced to the idea of following “clues of curiosity from Big Magic, by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Spiritually, I believe that the Holy Spirit is the Author of these clues. These Threads of Curiosity, as I will call them, continue to teach me and fill my days with more joy and passion. They help me know what to do or say next in a practical way (Did I mention that I’m practical?). I also believe God’s whisper is in listening and watching for these Threads.

Day by day, I am experiencing more and more of God’s presence, His love for me, and my love for Him and others. It is a sweet spot. It makes my heart sing. At the end of most days, I find myself saying, Thank you Lord, this day has been a very good day. My prayer is that my writing will help you notice how the small Threads of Curiosity in your life are shaping and molding you and bringing you more joy. That is my desire.

Hi! My name is Debbie Laaser, beloved wife of Mark Laaser, his partner in life for nearly 50 years and recovery for over 30 years until his passing in 2019. I am the co-founder of Faithful & True with Mark and a licensed marriage and family therapist. I have counseled couples with Mark, women individually, and facilitated therapy groups for wives for over 20 years. I now devote my time to leading Faithful & True, counseling spouses who have been relationally betrayed, and facilitating our Women’s Journey Workshops. I am the author of Shattered Vows and co-author with Mark of Seven Desires and A Toolkit for Growth. My research project, “Posttraumatic Growth in Relationally Betrayed Women” is also published in the Journal of Marital and Family Therapy. I love spending time with my three adult children, their spouses (and fiancé), and four grandchildren. I enjoy watching sports, playing golf and tennis, traveling, learning new things, reading, calligraphy, writing, birdwatching…life that comes from following threads of curiosity!
